This is the first mandrel. It's 1.25 inch in diameter 16 inches long.

This is the rotor and mandrel on the balancer.

Also made a heavy mandrel for testing the entire assembly. This one is 2.25 inches in diameter.

Because I noted run out issues on the threaded portion of the small mandrel I copied the design of the large mandrel to accept a 7/16-20 stud. This has proven to be the most concentric method of producing thread retainer.

The threaded portion uses socket set screws 7/16-20 x 1-1/4.
